Pay safely
Before you pay
- Buy chicks from a known hatchery or its authorised distributor, and ask which hatchery they came from.
- Check batch numbers and expiry dates on feed bags and drugs.
- Buy vaccines only from cold-chain stores, and ask how they were stored and transported.
- Count and check chicks on delivery, and report problems to the seller the same day.
- A price far below current market prices is a warning sign. Compare with our price guide.
